Eagles' Molting season is when they shed their feathers, their vision blurs, and their beak and talons break off. It is one of the most painful times in an eagle's life. It is a kind of death process.
As a church, we are undergoing a transformative experience, much like an eagle shedding its feathers and adapting to a new form. It can be uncomfortable and uncertain to venture into new territory, but we are certain that we won't be returning to our old ways. We have chosen a new path that leads to personal growth, a deeper faith in God, and a more fulfilling life.
Although it may be difficult to let go of old habits and behaviors, we must remember that sometimes what was once nourishing can become toxic and stagnant. By embracing change, we make room for new growth and opportunities to serve God. We must not be discouraged by the loss of what once brought us joy and fulfillment, but instead focus on the new feathers of growth that are appearing in our lives.
We can find hope and strength in the Lord, as stated in Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." By relying on God and trusting in His plan for us, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things.
Let us embrace this season of growth and transformation, and look forward to the new modalities of worship and praise that God is growing within us. We are not quitters, but rather individuals committed to personal growth and developing our faith and walk with God. With courage and belief, we can soar to new heights and live a more robust, healthy, and godly life.
Psalm 103 has ministered to me in the past few weeks, especially verses 1-5:
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me,
Bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits,
Who forgives all your iniquity,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy
Who satisfies you with good, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
